| Lake Chapala is Mexicos largest lake, located in a lushly forested, mountain-rimmed valley. National Geographic rates the climate as the second best in the world. This "Land of Eternal Spring" boasts an average year-round temperature of 74 degrees Fahrenheit (23 degrees Celsius) and low humidity. Located only twenty-five minutes from the Guadalajara International Airport, we are easily accessible by taxi or bus. There are also reasonably well-maintained and patrolled highways if you decide to rent a car or to drive to this part of Mexico.
Our central location, between the busy town of Chapala and the romantic old village of Ajijic, offers you easy access to a large variety of local interests, shops, artisans, and fun nightlife and entertainment. Almost every activity related to recreation, sports, culture, shopping, tours and travel is available in the area.
During your stay, you may enjoy Lake Chapalas wide variety of cultural, ecological, and historical sites. You will also see spectacular sun rises and sunsets, beautiful mountain and lake vistas and an abundance of tropical trees and plants.
Activities at the Lakeside include: Tennis, golf, hiking, biking, boating, and horseback riding. You can also stroll our streets and shop at one of the many street markets or local boutiques selling locally made art, clothing and crafts. For those with a sweet tooth, check out the many roadside candy stands and local pastry shops.
Some of the cultural highlights include the Music Appreciation Society concerts and the local "Little Theatre Productions. You can even take in a performance of a local Mariachi Band around the village shopping areas.
Additionally, each village also holds special events throughout the year for their particular celebration dates. One of our favorites is the Christmas processions called "Posadas" in San Antonio Tlayacapan.
There are also numerous highlights in Guadalajara and area such as shopping tours to Tonala and Tlaquepaque (world famous for their arts, pottery and crafts) and the famous Ballet Folkloric at the beautiful Degollado Theatre, a splendor of dance and costume depicting the cultural influences in different areas of Mexico.
As you can imagine, a small piece of paradise is waiting for you in this wonderfully relaxed and friendly part of Mexico.
We would be very pleased to host your stay at beautiful Lake Chapala in Mexico.
